One day per one hour

Jetlag.  I've been told that it takes one day for every hour of time difference to get over jetlag.  My old body is telling me something differently regarding the nine hour difference between the Emirates and Central Standard Time.  I'm still crashing immediately after dinner and waking before 5AM.  Got another couple of days.

Where in the world is Matt Lauer?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18447289/

Matt was in Dubai last week!  I happened to meet his private pilot at the hotel where I stayed.  At the check-out desk I noticed that the man next to me was American.  We struck up a conversation and I mentioned that I'd flown out on Emirates and loved it, blah blah.  He curtly remarked that the Emirates plane couldn't possibly be as nice as his.  I asked why, and he said that it had two showers, blah blah.  I told him that I was in town for a women's conference where Anne Graham Lotz was speaking.  He told me that he flew Matt Lauer around the world.  Too bad he didn't tell me where he was going.

Homeward Bound

Home is where the heart is for global nomads.  The older I get, the more ready I am to be back in my own bed.  (I'm also missing my hubby!)

This is my last epistle from the Gulf.  Big D here I come.  Ma-asalama UAE.

Thanks to everyone for keeping up with my exploits while abroad.  I'll be in the air (or airports) for the next 24 hours.

Multi-cultural world

We just concluded our afternoon sessions at the women's conference with a meal of Lebanese food.  Only in Dubai would I be eating Lebanese food seated next to South Africans, Chinese, Indians and Nigerians as we were entertained by a group of hula dancers trying their best to imitate Don Ho.  One of the connections I helped make over dinner was introducing a Swiss lady living in Spain who is interested in locating the most strategic types of indigenous ministries to an Indian living in Dubai who works with Advancing Native Missions, one of the best equipped agencies to evaluate indigenous efforts.  Wow!
